On February 12, a debate on the topic “You and the Law” was held at the Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College as part of the “Ushqyr Oi Alany” project. First-year students participated in the event, with a total of 25 participants.

The goal of this event was to enhance students’ legal literacy, develop their active civic position, and foster a conscious attitude towards the law.

During the debate, participants not only demonstrated their knowledge of law but also learned to argue their viewpoints persuasively and to respect opposing opinions. They provided real-life examples, discussed the legal aspects of various situations, and emphasized the importance of legal knowledge for every citizen. Throughout the debate, students referred to specific articles of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, showcasing a high level of legal awareness. The discussion was lively and constructive, allowing students to exchange opinions and expand their understanding of legal matters.

At the end of the meeting, the college’s social pedagogue, E.A. Morgunova, spoke about the importance of such events in fostering legal culture among young people. Additionally, students who had recently visited the Mixed-Security Institution No. 76 of the Kostanay Region Penal System Department shared their impressions. They described what they saw inside the institution and expressed their thoughts on the penal system.

The debates proved to be a valuable and educational event aimed at developing students’ legal culture and fostering their active civic engagement. Such events contribute to young people’s understanding of their rights and responsibilities while stimulating their interest in studying legislation.
