The heritage of the past, traditions, customs, language, family, way of life and holidays – this is all that personifies the cultural and genetic code of the nation.

Along with the deep traditions and customs of the Kazakh people, national games and sports play a huge role in the formation of culture. According to the established tradition, on the eve of the celebration of the spring equinox on March 16, the Student Parliament of the Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College organized competitions in national sports.

The purpose of the event was to popularize and develop national sports, as well as promote a healthy lifestyle. As part of the event, young people were able to take part in such competitions as kazaksha kures, togyzkumalak, asyk atu, tug of war and others. The event turned out to be rich and bright. Students had the opportunity to show ingenuity when playing togyzkumalak, strength and dexterity in tug-of-war competitions, and attention when playing asyk. Any kind of national sport is focused on training young people for endurance and skill, courage, and most importantly, love for national culture, patriotic feelings. Such events allow the younger generation to absorb the traditions and culture of their ancestors, to understand the origins of the philosophy and mentality of the people.
