On November 19-20, in Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College, the leaders of 1-4 year groups held mentoring hours on the topic “My Choice – Safe and Responsible Behavior” (AIDS and HIV Infection Prevention). The purpose of the event: The ability to evaluate your actions and those of others, taking into account the equality of rights and responsibilities of all participants in the process; willingness to accept and correct mistakes, if they were made, and to be responsible for the results of your work.
During the mentoring hour, speakers and students talked about the most precious things in a person – life, health, that human health depends on many reasons. They learned the story of the red ribbon.
Working in small groups, each group completed the task, answering the proposed questions: What is HIV? What is AIDS? How are HIV and AIDS different from each other? Is AIDS a contagious disease? Does an HIV-infected person always develop AIDS? Which population groups are most at risk of infection? How long does it take for a person to determine whether they are infected or not? They also read information about the ways of contracting HIV using a QR code and completed a task. At the end of the event, each group developed and presented a memo on the topic “Stop HIV/AIDS”, having come to the conclusion that it is necessary to lead a healthy lifestyle, not to drink alcohol and use drugs! They reduce critical assessment, which can cause risky behavior. Our health and our future depend, first of all, on ourselves.
The information was prepared by the head of the methodological association of group leaders, Amantaeva S.K.
