As part of the initiative to revive the debate movement in schools, colleges and universities of the country, expressed by the Minister of Education and Science

A.K. Aimagambetov, February 27-28, 2021 on the basis of the Kostanay Higher Polytechnic College together with the debate club of KRU named after A. Baitursynov “Akhmet’s descendants” organized a republican tournament “Elbasy’s initiatives that changed the world”, dedicated to the 50^th anniversary of the Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College.

The purpose of the debate tournament was: increasing the social and creative activity of students through public discussion and analysis of problems in society, the formation of students’ legal culture, civic engagement, responsibility, popularization, support and development of the debate movement.

 The debate tournament was held in the British Parliamentary Format (BPF). The tournament was attended by 28 teams. In addition to the participants from Kostanay, teams from Kokshetau and Astana took part in the tournament, which undoubtedly made the tournament even more entertaining and interesting.

It is also worth noting that the tournament was held in cooperation with the department of the anti-corruption agency in the Kostanay region. In this regard, the children discussed issues of anti-corruption culture, and the final topic, for example, was the question of whether the leaders should be held accountable for the corruption of their subordinates.

Tournament results:

According to the results of feedback forms from participants and judges, Georgy Govorov became the best judge of the tournament.

The title of the best speaker was awarded to Nurgaliev Diaz.

The trophy of the best young speaker of the qualifying rounds was taken by the representative of the English league of the debate club ” Akhmet’s descendants” Asmanova Adina.

Anastasia Starkova, 3^rd year student, was nominated for Best Speaker Speech.

Aikenov Daulet and Omirbai Ersayin (Kokshetau) won the title of winners of the main final.

The finalists were the teams consisting of: Nurgaliev Diaz and Bukabaev Anuar (Kostanay), Magzumov Damir and Smagulov Nurzhan (Kokshetau), as well as Kushkumbayev Chingiz and Mukatova Madina (Astana).
