On February 12, 2025, in the framework of the International Book Donation Day (February 14), the campaign “Book as a gift” was held at Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College. The idea behind the event belongs to Amy Broadmoor, founder of the Delightful Children’s Books book recommendation resource, and part–time blogger and school librarian from Minnesota. One day, her little son asked her a question: “Why isn’t there a holiday where everyone gives books to each other?” And Emmy decided to organize such a day herself.

The purpose of this event is to popularize fiction, instill interest in reading and literary taste among students. Therefore, after interviewing our readers, finding out their preferences, we selected books based on their interests. These are historical novels, fiction, and modern literature. We hope that our books, selected for our readers, will give them pleasure.
