“Makal-sozdin azygy, Zhumbak – oidyn kazygy (Educational and educational meanings of riddles and proverbs)” (implementation of the “Reading College” project).

As part of the implementation of the “Reading College” project, a curatorial hour was held at the Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College for 1-4 year students “Makal-sozdin azygy, Zhumbak – oidyn kazygy”

The main goals of the curator’s hour: Learn to think critically and creatively; Reveals his aspirations for learning, work and self-development; Keeps the environment clean; Promote technological and digital skills; Desire to learn, experience and achieve new things

During the curatorial hour, students remembered that a proverb is a work of art that contains a broad generalization and embodies it in an extremely brief form. A riddle is one of the small forms of oral folk art, in which the most vivid, characteristic signs of objects or phenomena are given in an extremely concise, figurative form. There is a great thematic variety of proverbs: about the Motherland, about home and family, about work, about friendship, about intelligence and stupidity, about happiness and misfortune, about food and drink, about books and literacy, about health and illness, about the spiritual properties of people and their behavior and much more. Proverbs sharpen thought, they teach, educate, guide, and actively introduce a person to the riches of the folk language. Skillful and quick use of proverbs and sayings testifies to resourcefulness and a sharp mind. So, when working on proverbs and sayings, students fulfilled the following conditions:

1) the student’s understanding of the literal and figurative meaning contained in the proverb;

2) possession of a known stock of works of a given genre;

3) the ability to correlate the content of a proverb with a specific aspect of life or phenomenon and, conversely, to see in some fact or manifestation of reality the main thing that can be characterized by the corresponding thematic group of proverbs, and select among them the one in which this main thing is defined most clearly completeness and accuracy;

4) developing the ability to reasonably use proverbs and sayings in speech

At the end of the event, the students came to the conclusion that proverbs and riddles sharpen thought, they teach, educate, guide, and actively introduce a person to the riches of the folk language. The basis of every proverb and riddle is a specific incident, object, fact, phenomenon, etc.
