College Students Created a Collage on the Topic “Be Responsible – Preserve Public Property for Future Generations!” for the Prevention of Vandalism

Our students demonstrated an active civic position and drew public attention to the important issue of preserving public property, which often becomes the target of vandalism. As part of a social initiative aimed at preventing vandalism, they created a collage expressing their perspective on the issue of destruction and restoration of urban infrastructure.

The goal was not only to draw attention to the destruction of public property but also to instill a sense of responsibility for the preservation of the surrounding world in young people. The college students sought to show the importance of each person’s role in preserving the objects that serve society—buildings, monuments, public spaces.

The collage is divided into two main parts, each of which represents the opposite sides of the issue. On one side, the heroes are depicted—people who restore and protect public property from destruction. These may be municipal workers, artists, volunteers, and other activists who paint over graffiti, restore damages, and help bring urban objects into order. These characters have become symbols of hope and the restorative power of society, emphasizing the importance of their work in preserving cultural and historical heritage.

On the other side, the collage depicts vandals who destroy public property. These are people who damage buildings, graffiti them without consent, and deface them, which not only harms the appearance of the city but also violates the commonly accepted norms of respect for shared values. The collage clearly shows how easy it is to destroy, but how difficult it is to restore what has been damaged.

The collage created by the college students has become a powerful tool for preventing vandalism because art has a unique ability to affect people’s feelings and thoughts. The visual format of the work allows the importance of preserving public property and being responsible for its condition to be quickly and vividly conveyed to viewers.

Thus, the college students’ collage has become not only the result of creative work but also an important social initiative that may play a role in reducing vandalism levels and fostering respectful attitudes toward public property among young people.
