Nowadays, the WorldSkills professional skill championship has become an active tool for career mentoring and raising the prestige of the TVE professions.

In October 2017, a student of the college Kotsurenko Valery and a young specialist Davydov Alexander took part in the World Championship WorldSkills AbuDhabi 2017 in the competence of «Wiring» and «Web Design». World Championship WorldSkills Abu Dhabi was held on 51 competencies, in six blocks of working professions: construction, IT-technologies, art and design, industrial production, services and civilian transport services. In total, 1300 contestants, more than 1500 experts from 77 countries of the world took part in the world championship. The national team of Kazakhstan was represented in 23 competencies.

According to the results of the World Championship WorldSkills Competition, the Kazakhstan team took 24th place. In the 44th World Championships, leaders were identified for individual competencies of working specialties among the best representatives of 77 countries. Kazakhstan became the only representative of Central Asia.

Already today, having gained experience and analyzing the result of participation in the world championship, experts, trainers, teachers of special disciplines, together with the national operator of the «Holding «Kasipkor», develop recommendations and proposals for qualitative preparation of the contestants.

So, at an international scientific and practical conference «Model of Educational and Methodological Associations of TVE Organizations as a mechanism for ensuring the development of quality content of technical and vocational education», which was held on October 27, 2017 on the basis of the Kostanay Higher Polytechnic College, the issues of updating the content of educational programs, taking into account the standards of Worldskills, equipment of the material and technical base.

Participants in the conference said that learning English and teaching special subjects in English would expand the horizons of the champions’ chances.

Many heated debates were raised by the creation of competence centers in the sectors of the Worldskills Championship. At present, there is no single regulatory and legal structuring activity of such centers; the issues of personnel and financial support at the level of the Republic remain unresolved.

Recommendations are developed to improve the qualifications of teachers in the field of competencies in the branches of the championship through the organization of course preparation, participation of contestants in professional competitions of the countries of the near and Far Abroad.

Such a comprehensive approach to the system of training participants of WORLDSKILLS championships will allow us to solve the main task facing the system of technical and vocational education – to ensure a high level of graduates’ training at the level of world standards.
