On January 23, 2026, an explanatory talk on the new Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Crime Prevention” dated December 30, 2025, was held at Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College.

As part of the state policy to strengthen law and order, our college held an explanatory talk for faculty and staff on the new Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Crime Prevention.”

Key Discussion Topics

Participants learned about the document’s main goals: protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms, as well as identifying and eliminating the causes that contribute to crime. Particular attention was paid to the principles of legality, humanity, family support, and the priority of preventive measures over repressive ones.

The concepts of “neglect” and “homelessness” were discussed in detail. Teachers were reminded of the importance of a continuous educational process to protect children from the negative influences of the social environment. The need for early identification of students requiring special attention and providing them with timely psychological and pedagogical support was discussed.

During the discussion, clear definitions were given to various types of violence: physical, psychological, sexual, economic, and domestic. The operating procedures of “help offices for children victims of violence” were reviewed.

Attention was focused on the role of teachers in fostering law-abiding behavior and a legal culture among young people.

The staff discussed mechanisms for interaction with family support centers and mobile groups to provide assistance to students and their families in difficult life situations. Leaders and staff were informed of their responsibility for failing to take crime prevention measures within their responsibilities.
