(A Preventive Event featuring Healthcare Representatives)

On December 2, 2025, a major preventive event titled “Drug Prevention: A Step Towards a Healthy Life” was held within the walls of the KGKP “Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College.” The main goal of this important meeting was to foster sustainable motivation for a healthy lifestyle among young people and to raise their awareness about the catastrophic harm of drugs and the consequences of using psychoactive substances (PAS).

The event saw the active participation of 150 students from various college groups: 1PO-12, 1SIB-2, 1B-8, 1ST-9, 1A-4, and 1ES-25. Experts representing the healthcare sector addressed the students: E.G. Shumenova, a Healthy Lifestyle (HLS) doctor from Polyclinic No. 4, and Nursseitov Tamerlan Asanuly, a social psychologist.

Key objectives were achieved during the meeting, focused on providing objective information about the medical, social, and legal consequences of consuming alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, thereby debunking common myths. Particular attention was paid to developing the participants’ skills for effective refusal of offers to try PAS, with experts emphasizing the personal responsibility of every student for their health and future.

Furthermore, the doctor gave a detailed overview of the specifics of their work, aiming to dispel myths about the narcological (addiction treatment) service and to inform participants about the possibilities of receiving anonymous help.

The meeting took place in the format of an active dialogue, where students were able to ask their pressing questions and receive professional answers. The experts clearly demonstrated that a healthy lifestyle is not merely the absence of bad habits but a reliable foundation for achieving success in studies, career, and personal life. Conducting such preventive measures is an integral part of the college’s educational work, aimed at preserving the health and well-being of the student youth.
