On February 17, 2026, debates on the topic “You and the Law” were held at Kostanay Higher Polytechnic College as part of the implementation of the “Ұшқыр ой алаңы” project. The event was attended by 10 students — representatives of the factions of the college’s debate movement.

Purpose of the event: to improve students’ legal literacy, to form an active civic position, and to develop responsibility for compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Objectives of the debates: fostering respect for law and public order; developing skills of reasoned discussion and critical thinking; preventing offenses among youth; increasing the level of legal culture among students.

During the debates, participants discussed issues of administrative and criminal liability, the rights and duties of citizens, as well as the role of young people in building a law-based society. The students presented well-grounded arguments, analyzed various real-life situations, and proposed solutions to current issues.

The event was held in a constructive and business-like atmosphere. The participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, the ability to conduct dialogue, and respect for opposing opinions.

Conducting such events contributes to the formation of legal awareness among young people and the development of a culture of open discussion of social issues.
