Our college held a celebratory curatorial event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Adibay Tabyldiyev, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, professor, and one of the founders of ethnopedagogy in Kazakhstan. His life and work exemplify his dedication to science and the education of the younger generation.
The goals of the commemorative events were to introduce students to Tabyldiyev’s works in the field of folk pedagogy and family education; to foster respect for national traditions and values through the example of the scholar’s life; and to motivate students to pursue pedagogical inquiry and self-improvement.
The students discussed the scholar’s key ideas about how education should be based on national roots, customs, and the wisdom of the people. Particular attention was paid to his book, “Kazakh Ethnopedagogy.” Adibay Tabyldiyev is known not only as a scholar but also as a talented writer. Group leaders spoke about his works for children and young adults, which are imbued with love for his native land and humanism.
Group discussions focused on the topic “The Role of Traditions in the Modern World.” Students reflected on how Tabyldiyev’s ideas help today’s youth maintain their identity in the age of globalization.
“Folk pedagogy is an inexhaustible source from which we must draw wisdom for the education of the future generation.” These are the ideas that Adibay Tabyldiyev carried throughout his life.
The curatorial hours allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of intergenerational continuity. Adibay Tabyldiyev left behind not just books, but an entire school of education that continues to thrive within the walls of educational institutions in our country.
At the end of the event, students prepared thematic stands and presentations dedicated to the professor’s life.
The number of students who participated in the curatorial hours: 1st year – 414; 2nd year – 330; 3rd year – 208; 4th year – 146; group leaders -43.
