Many years ago, our country marked a new milestone in its history: it grew stronger and achieved great results in its development.

Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College held a joint mentoring session for first- to fourth-year students, “I am proud of my people,” dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The goals of the mentoring session were to: foster a sense of civic responsibility, patriotism, and pride in their homeland—the Republic of Kazakhstan; cultivate respect for state symbols (the flag, coat of arms, and anthem), the Constitution, and core national values; and promote the ideas of national unity and interethnic harmony as the foundation for the prosperity of an independent state. Stimulate a proactive stance and responsibility for the future of their country.

During the event, students learned about the significance of Independence Day for our country and our people. They discussed the importance of appreciating and respecting their history, culture, and traditions, and being proud of their homeland. We discussed the importance of respecting and understanding others, their points of view, and their opinions. We also talked about the importance of tolerance and a willingness to compromise in various situations.

I hope this mentoring hour will help students better understand the importance of unity, harmony, and pride in their country, and will stimulate the development of personal culture and relationships.

At the end of the mentoring hour, the students concluded that the future of our republic depends on what they become, and that the older generation has only their hopes. The event concluded with wishes for peace and tranquility, unity, and prosperity for our vast country.

The number of students who participated in the mentoring hour: 1st year – 414; 2nd year – 330; 3rd year – 208; 4th year – 146; group leaders – 43.
