On February 14, a parent meeting was held at the Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College on the topic “Prevention of autodestructive behavior, bullying/cyberbullying and violence”
for parents1-4 courses.
The purpose of the parent meeting: to increase the level of psychological literacy of the parent community in the prevention of autodestructive behavior, bullying/cyberbullying and violence “; familiarization with the causes and prerequisites of autodestructive behavior of minors.
The structure of the meeting provided for 2 blocks (theoretical and practical).
In the first block, T.V. Naumenko, a teacher-psychologist of the college, spoke about the importance of psychological literacy of the parental community in the prevention of suicidal behavior, introduced parents to the main causes and signs of suicidal behavior and problems of child-parental relationships.
B.E. Aitpaeva, educational psychologist, highlighted the issue on the topic “Prevention of bullying/cyberbullying in relation to minors.” Parents explained how to understand that the child became a victim of bullying, and conducted a practical exercise on the ability to recognize bullying.
Morgunova E.A., social teacher of the college, highlighted the issue on the topic “Prevention of domestic violence against minors.” Morgunova E.A. emphasized that child abuse in the family includes any form of mistreatment tolerated by parents or other family members, and demonstrated videos on the topic of child-parent relationships.
Dyuskeeva L.K., deputy for UVR, inspector of the juvenile police OMPS SO UP. issues such as prevention of sexual inviolability, prevention of prostitution and sexual exploitation were highlighted. Parents were provided with information on helplines for children “150” and anti-trafficking “116 16.”
In the second part of the meeting, T.V. Naumenko, a teacher-psychologist, conducted training exercises with parents aimed at developing harmonization of child-parent relations, gave recommendations to parents on how to cultivate respect for the child’s personality and learn to understand his problems.
At the end of the event, parents were sent reminders on aspects of family education, prevention of suicidal behavior and domestic violence against minors.
The parent meeting was an important step towards creating a safe and supportive environment for the development of adolescents. Activities like this help raise awareness among parents about the challenges their children may face and help them gain the necessary knowledge and skills to prevent negative situations.
