On March 3, 2026, an organized viewing and discussion of the video «Drop» was held for second-year students of group 2M-14 studying in the specialty «Technology of Mechanical Engineering». The event was aimed at improving the legal literacy of future specialists and preventing their involvement in illegal financial schemes. During the meeting, the emphasis was placed on the fact that serious criminal offenses are often hidden behind easy earnings.
The choice of topic is dictated by the high urgency of the problem: recently, there has been a sharp increase in cases of youth being used as «drops» – intermediaries in cashing out and transferring stolen funds. The supervisor explained in detail to the students how scammers disguise their offers as legitimate work and what digital traces such transactions leave. Special attention was paid to the fact that ignorance of the law does not absolve from responsibility, and participation in such chains can permanently close the path to a career at leading machine-building enterprises.
The event ended with an active discussion, during which the students came to the conclusion that maintaining «digital hygiene» and being critical of offers of quick profits on the Internet are the key to their personal and professional safety.
Here are three key tips for students.:
– critically evaluate offers for «easy earnings»;
– follow strict «digital hygiene»;
– study the employer’s reputation, do not succumb to psychological pressure and do not trust «gray» employers.
Such preventive measures make it possible for future mechanical technicians to develop strong immunity to financial fraud.
