A large-scale screening and discussion of thematic films were organized at our college with the aim of preventing and counteracting social problems widely prevalent among young people.

The event was attended by 960 students from the 1st to the 4th courses. Students were offered a series of videos, each addressing a pressing social issue. The screening was accompanied by a subsequent discussion, which allowed students to delve deeper into the information presented and express their positions.

The films viewed included: “The Courier” («Курьер»), “On the Advertisement of Narcotic Courier Work” («О рекламе работы наркокурьера»), “On the Advertisement of Narcotic Graffiti Artist Work” («О рекламе работы наркографитчика»), “On the Harm of Drugs and the Regret of Convicts” («О вреде наркотиков и сожаление осужденных»), “Don’t Become a Drop” («Не становись дропом»), “Say No to Cyberbullying” («Скажи нет кибербуллингу»), and “Regret” («Сожаление»).

The video materials were carefully selected and focused on preventing the following critically important social problems and fostering responsible behaviour:

• Counteracting drug addiction: Special attention was paid to the dangers of involvement in illegal drug trafficking (courier work, graffiti) and the detrimental effects of substance abuse.
• Addiction prevention: Topics covered included the spread of negative consequences of alcohol consumption and the prevention of gambling addiction (ludomania).
• Counteracting illegal financial activities: Risks and responsibilities associated with fraudulent schemes were discussed, including “dropping” (providing one’s accounts for illegal financial transactions).
• Preventing bullying and cyberbullying: The films encouraged the formation of respectful communication and warned about the consequences of harassment in real life and online.
• Raising general legal literacy: Contributing to the formation of responsible behaviour and awareness of the legal consequences of one’s actions.
