Action “Earth Hour”

As part of the international environmental campaign Earth Hour, college students took an active part in the event aimed at drawing attention to the problems of climate change and respect for natural resources.

The Earth Hour campaign is held annually at the initiative of the international environmental organization World Wide Fund for Nature. On this day, millions of people around the world turn off the lights and electrical appliances for one hour to show their support for the idea of   preserving the planet.

College students supported the environmental initiative by turning off lighting and electrical appliances in places of residence. Before the start of the campaign, informational conversations were held about the importance of energy saving, environmental responsibility and the role of each person in preserving the environment.

Participation in the action was not only a symbolic gesture for students, but also an opportunity to think about everyday habits that affect the state of the environment. Many participants noted that even small actions – saving electricity, using water carefully and sorting waste – can make a significant contribution to protecting nature.

The Earth Hour campaign once again reminded all participants that taking care of the Earth begins with the simple actions of each person.
