From September 3 to 9, 2026, the Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College held a competition of compositions made from natural materials among first-year students on the theme “Happy Family.”
The competition was organized with the aim of strengthening family values and traditions, developing students’ creative abilities, fostering a respectful attitude toward nature, and creating opportunities for young people to express themselves creatively.
The main theme of the competition was a happy family, its love, unity, mutual understanding, care, and respect. By using natural materials, the participants were able to demonstrate their imagination, creativity, and artistic thinking. They created original compositions reflecting the importance of family values.
Students from the following first-year groups took part in the competition: 1ЭС-26, 1Э-17, 1ПО-13, 1ПО-14, 1СИБ-3, 1Б-10, 1ХП-28, 1СТ-10, 1ТЗ-32, 1М-17, and 1М-18
While creating their works, the students used a variety of natural materials, including dried leaves and flowers, branches, pinecones, seeds, fruits, stones, tree bark, and other safe materials of natural origin. Each participant aimed to create an original and expressive composition corresponding to the theme of the competition.
Particular attention was paid to the independent creation of the works, originality of the idea, neatness, and aesthetic presentation. The competition allowed students not only to develop and demonstrate their creative abilities but also to gain practical skills in working with natural materials.
The competition entries were evaluated according to the following criteria: relevance to the theme, originality of the idea, creative approach, use of natural materials, quality and neatness of execution, aesthetic presentation, and expressiveness of the composition.
The “Happy Family” competition became an engaging creative and educational event aimed at developing students’ respect for family and family traditions, enhancing their aesthetic taste, and fostering a caring attitude toward the natural environment.
The completed compositions were presented at a thematic exhibition at the college. Each work reflected the students’ individual creative ideas and their understanding of what makes a family happy and united.
Following the results of the competition, the winners and active participants were recognized with certificates of appreciation. The best works were displayed at the exhibition and shared on the information resources and social media of the Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College.
The competition demonstrated that creativity is a wonderful way to bring together important life values — love for family, respect for traditions, care for the environment, and the desire to create something beautiful with one’s own hands.
“A Happy Family” means love, mutual understanding, support, and unity — the qualities that make everyone’s life brighter and kinder.
