On April 2, 2026, a lecture by the Information and Awareness Group (IAG) on the topic «The Internet — a Web of Misconceptions» was held at Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College.

The speaker was Aibek Myrzagaliyevich Tanatbaev. During the lecture, актуal issues related to the impact of the internet space on young people’s minds were discussed, as well as the risks of spreading unreliable and distorted information, including in religious matters.

Special attention was paid to developing critical thinking skills, the ability to analyze information, and to distinguish reliable sources from questionable ones. Students were also advised on how to resist manipulation and maintain an objective perspective in the flow of information.

Students from groups 1 PO-10, 1 SIB-1, and 2 B-6 took part in the event. The participants showed interest in the topic, listened attentively, and asked questions.

Such events contribute to improving information literacy and fostering a responsible attitude toward consumed information.
