On March 17, 2026, on the basis of the Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College, a regional hackathon “Hack & Connect” was held for students of the Kostanay region. The event was organized jointly with the Methodological Center for Informatization and Assessment of the Quality of Education.
The hackathon was attended by 7 students from 4 colleges in the region. Despite the small number of participants, the competition took place in an active and productive atmosphere, allowing everyone to show their knowledge and skills.
The main task of the hackathon was the development and assembly of the robotic arm. Participants had to assemble the device, program it and demonstrate performance in a limited time – only 3 hours. The work used Arduino kits and additional components.
Projects were evaluated by the jury according to several criteria: the quality of the program code, the design of the device, the functionality and protection of the project. Participants showed a good level of training, technical thinking and ability to work in limited time.
Based on the results of the hackathon, the following winners were determined:
1st place – Kovtun Danil, head – Nazhikanov Temirlan Orazgalievich (Kostanay Industrial and Pedagogical College);
2nd place – Gleb Korzunin, head – Andrey Valerievich Karput (Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College);
3rd place – Zholdybai Nurganat, leader – Қ uantaev Aslan (Kostanay Higher Pedagogical College).
Such events contribute to the development of students’ interest in engineering and IT specialties, form practical skills and create conditions for the exchange of experience between colleges in the region.
