Explanatory Training (Round Table)On Compliance with Anti-Corruption Legislation

On March 17, an explanatory training session was held for staff on compliance with anti-corruption legislation. Speakers L. Glebova, Chief Accountant, and R. Mussainova, Legal Counsel, drew the attention of public procurement initiators to the development of technical specifications for goods, services, and works, with a full description of the required technical and quality characteristics. A detailed description of the required goods or services is a crucial condition for the supplier to fulfill their contractual obligations in good faith. Clause 12 of the Anti-Corruption section of the public procurement contract emphasizes that the parties must make reasonable efforts to minimize the risks of business relationships that may be involved in corrupt activities and to provide assistance in preventing corruption. The purpose of the event was to improve employees’ legal literacy, foster zero tolerance for corruption, and ensure compliance with legal norms in their professional activities.The meeting addressed the key provisions of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Combating Corruption,” as well as the requirements of anti-corruption standards in the field of education.Participants were briefed on the legal provisions governing the activities of educational institution employees, as well as disciplinary, administrative, and criminal penalties for corruption offenses.During the discussion, employees received answers to their questions, were given practical examples of situations that could lead to violations of anti-corruption laws, and were given recommendations for preventing them. Conducting such explanatory events helps to strengthen the principles of integrity, transparency and responsibility in the college’s activities.
