A mentoring hour on the topic “Life is Beautiful” was held at Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College. The goal of the event was to foster a positive outlook on life, an appreciation of its value, and the development of life goals in students.
The event began with an introductory speech by the instructor. The students were introduced to the concept of a parable—a short, instructive story that conveys wisdom and spiritual meaning. Since ancient times, parables have helped people understand life experiences and find answers to important questions.
To determine the theme of the meeting, the participants listened to the parable “Everything is in Your Hands” and discussed its meaning. The students concluded that a person makes their own choices and largely determines their destiny. The students then reflected on philosophical questions: what is life, what is its meaning, and how does life differ from mere existence.
The video “Boomerang of Kindness” was of particular interest. After the discussion, the students noted that kind deeds always return to a person. A short dialogue between the student and the teacher was also held about what makes life worth living. It was noted that the value of life is measured not by the number of years lived, but by the memorable events, impressions, family, friends, and hobbies.
During the mentor hour, participants also discussed family values and happiness. To this end, the parable “Make Your Own Happiness” was presented, demonstrating that each person creates their own happiness and is responsible for their own destiny.
The practical part of the event included exercises such as “Seeking Joy,” “Finish the Sentence,” and “A Good F riend,” which helped students reflect on their capabilities, goals, and the value of friendship.
