Legal Landmark: KPHC Students Meet with Police Representative

On March 5, a crime prevention event titled “I and the Law” was held at the Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College, aimed at increasing the legal literacy of the younger generation. The participants of the meeting included first-year students from groups 1A-4, 1ES-25, 1E-16, 1TZ-31, and 1M-15. Serving as the lead expert, Senior Juvenile Police Inspector of the Local Police Service of the Kostanay City Police Department, Police Captain Yanna Vitalyevna Aksenkina, addressed the students.

During her presentation, Yanna Vitalyevna spoke in detail about the most pressing legal threats facing modern youth. Special attention was paid to the problem of internet fraud and cybercrime, where the inspector explained common online scam schemes and methods for protecting personal data. A separate topic of discussion was “dropping”—involvement in illegal financial operations for transferring funds—for which strict liability is provided by law. The Police Captain also touched upon the prevention of ludomania (gambling addiction), explaining its destructive impact on personality, and reiterated the severe legislative measures in place to combat drug addiction and the trafficking of prohibited substances.

Direct dialogue with the law enforcement representative allowed students not only to reinforce their knowledge of rights and responsibilities but also to realize the full gravity of the consequences of committing illegal acts. Such meetings at the college are designed to foster a sense of responsible citizenship and a culture of law-abiding behavior among future specialists.
