The role of family and college in preventing bullying and cyberbullying

A parents’ meeting was held at the Mechanical and Technological Department of the Kostanay Polytechnic College on the topic: “Bullying, outcasts, rejects – one problem?”

The relevance of the chosen topic is due to the increase in cases of psychological pressure, aggressive behavior, and online harassment among teenagers. During the meeting, the main forms of bullying and cyberbullying, the reasons for their occurrence, the possible consequences for the psycho-emotional state of students, as well as the role of the family and educational organizations in preventing these phenomena were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the early detection of signs of bullying, algorithms for parents to follow when identifying problematic situations, and the importance of trusting communication with children. Parents were given recommendations on how to create a safe and supportive environment both at school and at home.

The event was initiated and organized by Rodion Lazarev, head of the mechanical and technological department, who emphasized the importance of teachers and parents working together to create a comfortable and safe environment for students’ learning and personal development.

Holding such events helps to raise parents’ awareness, strengthen cooperation between families and the college, and foster a culture of respectful and responsible communication among teenagers.
