Liability for Terrorism and Extremism

On December 4, 2025, a legal hour (lecture) was held at the Kostanay Polytechnic Higher College (KPKVK) on the topic: “Terrorism and Religious Extremism. Liability for Crimes Related to Terrorist Activities.” The event was held with the participation of law enforcement representatives, which ensured maximum competence and practical focus in the discussion. The goal of the event was to enhance the legal literacy of students and foster in them a clear understanding of the public danger and the inevitability of punishment for involvement in extremist and terrorist activities. A total of 107 students from five groups participated in the lecture-dialogue: 1M-16 (26 people), 1TZ-31 (17 people), 1PO-11 (23 people), 1A-4 (19 people), and 1PO-10 (22 people). The keynote speaker was Tamerlan Yerdenov, Operations Officer of the Police Department of Kostanay Region, who thoroughly explained to the students the legal norms governing liability for such crimes, and also answered questions about the signs of radicalization and methods of recruitment. The students received comprehensive information about which actions entail criminal liability and how important it is to exercise civic vigilance to ensure personal and public safety. The event became a significant step in the college’s educational work.
